PASS-Fail book

PASS-Fail

Bradley and Connie Hitches have returned to Earth. Their daughter Mayahh is seven, going on eight. The cloistered family has finally consented to a new series of interviews to keep the media at bay. In Part three, Orion’s Light, we have met and come to grips with the reality of an alien civilization. The Elioi have resolved their civil war, and humanity is hoping to develop trade contracts with the aliens from the Orion Nebula. However, not all of humanity is happy about working with an alien species.

The unresolved issue in Orion’s Light, the Precursors, reappear and install threatening monitors in the solar system. Brad, Connie, and their seven-year-old daughter, Mayahh, are thrust into pivotal roles as Humans, and the Elioi are given an ultimatum that will determine the future course of their mutual interstellar expansion. The conditions are not easily met. Will they Pass? Or Fail?

PASS-Fail is Part 4 of the Dreamland Diaries series.

The opportunity to spend more time with Brad, Connie, their prodigy daughter Myahh, and their interactions with extraterrestrial travelers was a welcome delight! And I found the travelers’ clever solution to the challenges of global warming absolutely brilliant! But the greatest take away for me was the very profound moral concept put forward, that provides an insightful recipe for the survival of humanity.

Mr. Ballister does an outstanding job of weaving together classic Sci-Fi elements (such as, psi communication, space travel utilizing space-time jumps, and a federation of hundreds of civilized worlds) with current Earth-bound realities, such as global warming, racial-ethnic-cultural prejudices, and out-right warfare. We are excited that this volume is available, and we know that you will be, too.

Sad to see this series end. Wraps up the dream land series quite well. Now I think I’ll go back and read the other three again just so I can immerse myself in this universe for a little longer.
